Pentecost Reflection
“When they heard this sound, a crowd came together in bewilderment, because each one heard their own language being spoken.” Acts 2:6
This hospital is blessed to have people working here from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds. What unites us is our calling to care for those who are sick, and our vision for a better humanity. Our unique experiences and gifts enable us to collectively meet the needs of the society.
In the Scripture, we read that the Holy Spirit descended upon those who had gathered on the day of Pentecost, and the people in the city “heard their own language being spoken.” The fact that God chose to communicate to the people in their own language is a marvelous expression of His love for ‘all humanity’. Christ’s sacrifice on the Cross and the gift of the Holy Spirit is for all those who receive Him, irrespective of their linguistic and cultural differences. In this season of Pentecost, let us wait upon the Holy Spirit to speak to our hearts and empower us to live our lives for His glory.
